‘APT
Tunes’ is the official bulletin
of the Academy of Physics Teachers. It
is temporally registered with the News
Papers and Periodicals Society of India
with Reg. No. M2- 28873 / 2000. APT Tunes
is published quarterly and circulated
among its members free of cost. It announces
the policies of the Academy, keeps the
members updated in physics, helps them
out with advanced topics in physics, suggests
good books for their reference and above
all inspires the readers to learn and
convey physics as they should do in this
century. The journal contains information
regarding the various forthcoming academic
programmes of the Academy, reports of
such completed programmes, recent developments
in physics and news from the campus. Apart
from these, it contains good and selected
articles in physics under different banners
like ‘Popular Science’, ‘Views’,
‘Focus’, ‘Recent Developments’,
Great Discoveries’ ‘Biographical
Sketches’ , ‘Study Materials’,
‘Book Review’, ‘Conceptions
and Misconceptions’ and ‘
Experiments and Projects’. It proclaims
the awards and honors received by its
members, gives them challenging problems
in physics for solving and encourages
the readers with timely and thoughtful
‘Editorials’. It also publishes
all kinds of responses from the readers
under the banner ‘Letter to the
Editor’.
The Chief Editor of the bulletin is the
President of the Academy, Managing Editor,
the Secretary of the Academy and Executive
Editor, the person elected by the General
Body from time to time. Prof. P. T. Kurian,
Head of the Department of Physics, K.
E. College Mannanam served as the Executive
Editor for a period of four years from
1999 to 2003. At present Dr. K. P. Satheesh
of Govt. College Kottayam is Executive
Editor. An Editorial Board is constituted
by the Executive Committee of the Academy
to help the Executive Editor for bringing
out the issues of the bulletin in time.
